Operators of the Lancaster County Convention Center and Lancaster Marriott at Penn Square are pleased to invite members of the community to a one-year anniversary social this Friday, June 18, from 6 to 9 p.m. The celebration will take place in the facility’s Great Room just off Historic Penn Square, with live entertainment by beloved Lancaster Jazz artist Amy Banks. Anniversary food and drink specials will be offered as a gesture of gratitude to the community for its support.
Since the official ribbon cutting on June 18, 2009, the integrated facility has been host to more than 850 events by more than 300 different organizations. More than 300,000 people have been through its doors to attend events or stay at the hotel. Additionally, two dozen new restaurant, retail, and service businesses have opened in the Downtown core and Northwest quadrant of the city since the opening.
“We’re gratified as always to be able to contribute to the economic vitality of such a great community and unique destination, and we look forward to taking a moment to celebrate the first exciting year of operation,” said Josh Nowak, Director of Sales & Marketing for the integrated facility.
