Above all, be true to yourself, and if you cannot put your heart in it, take yourself out of it. ~Author Unknown
I’m thrilled and honored to be part of the latest installment of Huffington Post’s TwitterPowerhouses Series, this one called “Passionistas” recognizing 42 women for their passion-driven work, “unique in its focus, determination, and intensity.”
This inspiring and diverse group of women includes writers, a winemaker, an environmental expert, artists, marketers, and other entrepreneurs, idea people, and status quo busters.
What the group has in common, along with many other contributors in the social media universe, is a passion for our causes and a desire to use social media to broaden our connections, strengthen our relationships with those who are like minded, amplify our collective voices, and further empower ourselves and others to make a difference.
The series, whose mission is to focus on “the contributions of people who’ve helped to expand, influence, and redefine how we view social networking,” was founded by beloved social media icon, author, speaker, and correspondent @2morrowknight (Sean Gardner), who has so thoughtfully observed, assembled, and presented more than 20 group and individual examples of inspiring individuals for this series. The people he promotes and connects are people whose presence, both online and in the real world, makes the social media community what it is — and without whom, like 2morrowknight himself, it would not be the same.
I want to thank two more amazing women and indispensable social media citizens, the co-authors of “Passionistas,” Ann Tran and Elianne Ramos.
Here’s to Glade Byron Addams’ well-put advice to “chase down your passion like it’s the last bus of the night.” We really cannot reach our full potential without believing in our purpose and following our passion.
